“The ‘Akademie in Kolbermoor’ exists and subsists thanks to time, works with it and defines it through the pictures that are created here. The most surprising thing is that the academy has existed for so long. This timelessness, the fact that it has been a constant presence, is of great significance to the students who have worked here and can be defined as trust and reliability. The idea behind the academy is painting, drawing and the discussion generated by a studio atmosphere. Some students have been coming to the academy every summer for 12 – 15 years and have managed to find themselves through painting. This continuity has allowed the creation of some astonishing and independent works. The graduating masterclass will show these accomplishments and prove itself with the exhibition of the students’ pictures. These pictures are not an event, not a sensation, but a magnificent attempt to measure oneself through any shape or form of painting. The results are a series of directions towards a great destination to be reached. The exhibited pictures feed the hope that it may be possible to do so. ”
